Hey hey punkrockers ,
Abnormal post for some dutiful news. As many of you already know, a few weeks ago Sara, my partner on IBR practically from the beginning, decided to leave the ‘zine and spread her wings opening her own ‘zine. No personal problem, but the different points of views and more ambitions than me, have suggested that the separation was the best path to follow for both.
Say thanks – even through these pages – for the loyalty and for her contribution to I Buy Records to achieve a visibility greater than I could imagine when I started in October 2012, is the least I can do. I can only wish her the best and to achieve the success so desired in her new adventure, Ramona Confidential!
i will continue to translate because I saw the daily visits from Italy and specially from other countries aren’t unchanged so… I’m not english mother tongue and surely there will be mistakes, but I hope you will appreciate the effort!
Back to us, here’s a couple of news I have the pleasure to tell you .
Last month,
Joe Queer after he read the interview with
B-Face of some months ago, he wrote (!!!) to be interviewed. Yes, you read right. He sent an e-mail in order to be interviewed and be able to publicly clarify a couple of things. You can imagine my surprise and my happiness! Obviously I couldn’t and I didn’t want to say no, so the afternoon before the concert in Milan, I met Joe and we talked about the past (
so many gems!!), present and future of the
Queers. I’m writing down everything and unfortunately it will take a bit of time ( the take lasts 1 hour and 10 minutes!) before I can pubblish, but well worth the wait. Trust me.
Joe Queer is the Punk Rock, and if you don’t think so, I’m sorry for you, but you are really dummy.
Big thanks to the guys of the
Otis Tour for being super friendly with me and to
Enri Gluesniffer for giving me a big hand during the interview.
Just taking a cue from the fantastic afternoon spent and the great friendship that binds us, I thought
Enri would be the perfect pal to help me here on
I Buy Records. I am therefore delighted to announce that he accepted and joined
IBR: one of us, one of us!
He will wrote just sometimes – he has already said that – but I’m sure when he will write, you appreciate. For those not familiar, Enri is the talented drummer of the
Teenage Gluesniffers and of one of the best italian punk rock band,
Gli Impossibili.
I Buy Records evolves: it’s several months that Enri and I organize events around our aerea. The excellent results obtained made us think that running the two things under the same name would have been the right thing to do: so the
I BUY RECORDS NIGHTS are official born!
Write down then on your calendar (look here at the top right!) these amazing gigs:
IBRN #1 – April 30, 2014 @ Blue Rose Saloon (Bresso, MI):
Spazzys (
AUS, All Female Pop Punk) +
Teenage Gluesniffers (Milan, Punk Rock) +
Ratbones (Genoa/Milan, Ramonescore) +
The Nuts (Piacenza/Milan, Punk Rock). All the infos
qui.
IBRN #3 – May 31, 2014 @ Ligera Bar (Milan):
Mega (Punk Rock from Monza) +
Biffers (Punk Rock from Livorno) + TBA
For the avoidance of doubt, that’s an activity that we have always done and will do WITHOUT saving one euro but only for passion and because we want to support the bands that we like. No personal interest. You can’t get rich with punk, or at least, that’s not our expectation. We always split the money at the end of the gigs between the bands and if we could save a little money our intentions is to re-invest the bucks in others events. Splitting 50 euro does not make us rich, re-invest it makes us happy.
We do everything in the little free time we’ve and it’ll be forever in this way, so we can’t promise to help every single band, we will do the possible. Let’s say that we try our best. Assuming that we are interested only in punk-rock/pop-punk and similar-styles, before the requests start flocking, let’s clarify what WE LIKE and what WE DON’T LIKE.
– Hello, my name is XXX and I work for YYY booking agency. I would need to book a date for the AAA in your area. Could you give me a hand? OK. WE LIKE THIS, WE’LL TRY TO HELP YOU.
– I work for YYY booking agency I want to book the AAA for 500 € + accommodation + food + beers + pussy. FUCK YOU, ASSHOLE.
– Hello, my name is XXX and I’m the singer of the YYY, we are organizing a tour and we would need to play a show around your area. WE LIKE ALSO THIS, WE’LL TRY TO HELP YOU.
– My name is XXX and I’m the singer of the YYY, we just released our new album recorded with AAA, produced by BBB, mastered by CCC. The magazine DDD said that our album will shake up the punk rock. FUCK YOU.
– Hello, my name is XXX and I play in a new band from Milan. We can’t find a place to play a show and we’d to experience a little bit, could you help us? OK, NEXT CONCERT, YOU’LL DEFINITELY PLAY.
So if you have interesting proposals contact us through the
facebook page or the contact form here (not available in the mobile version), we will evaluate case by case. We do not promise anything to anybody –
because we’d be idiots – but we will do our best. We hope to give concrete help to those who really need it.
Somehow, we plan to involve in this blog also our other friends, we are thinking about it: for sure it will be fun and interesting.
Finally, we need, of course, a good re-style of the layout. We need courage and patience, things that at the moment we are completely in lack but if there is a pure soul over there, be free to contact us ( stay calm, one at a time!).
More news will come in the next weeks, that’s all now.
Gabba Gabba.
