Kryye – Kollektief

Kryye is a pop-punk band that emerged in early 2024, presenting themselves as a quartet from Cape Town, South Africa. Their lineup was listed as:

In February 2025, Kryye released their sophomore album, Kollektief, also under Hey Pizza! Records. This album continued their homage to classic pop-punk, featuring covers of songs by Bob Marley, Nirvana, Screeching Weasel, and MxPx.

However, it was later revealed that Kryye was not an actual band from South Africa but an imaginative project by an artist deeply rooted in the pop-punk scene. This revelation led to discussions about the nature of the project, with some viewing it as an elaborate commitment to the art of musical storytelling.

Despite the fictional nature of the band, Kryye’s music has been well-received for its authentic and passionate tribute to the pop-punk genre.
